Lolita Karma intertwines the chic and glamorous nature of classic evening wear, whilst combining some of spring/summer’s biggest trends. Expect floating silhouettes, pretty frills, bold prints and ultimately beautiful splashes of colour.
Whilst studying fashion, Varuna has often been asked to represent her University by showcasing her designs at various prestigious fashion shows in India. Her collection is full of bold and colourful designs to suit all styles and cultures.

We have confirmed lots of exciting acts for Culture Mash-up on the 22nd of June that involve pop & R’n’B artists, Street, Salsa & Bollywood Dancers!
Shanti is really excited to feature Nalika Nevaeh, who is a London based singer, songwriter, dancer and choreographer. She started singing and putting her own routines together at a very early age and this will take her from singing in her bedroom to performing at events and talent shows.Nalika grew up in a musical home as her father was part of a reggae band. He encouraged and helped her fine tune her craft. This has turned her into the dynamic artist we see today – set to take the industry by storm. She is currently on a UK tour promoting her newly completed 12 track debut album due to be released later this year.
We have both solo and group salsa performances as we have 5 couples performing from ‘Laith Sami’s Performance group’ and we will also feature again the very passionate and talented Zaneta Carna!
We will also have body poping street dance duo ‘a:m’ doing another hot performance for Shanti between designers.
a:m Street Dancers
Bollywood & Bhangra
Representing some Eastern flavour we have 2 fantastic solo Bhangra & Bollywood dancers Simiran & Priya. Simiran has always been involved in dancing, especially Bollywood and Bhangra, however her style evolved when she received a scholarship to Stradford School of Performing Arts. During her time there she was taught different forms of dancing that range from Ballet to Street!
Priya has performed on many occasions from various events and fashion shows. She specialised in classical Indian dancing, but also performs within a variety of genres such as Bollywood, Bhangra & Street.
There will be more information on acts soon and we can’t wait to see all the live entertainment between the catwalk!
Early bird tickets are available for Culture Mashup only £7.50.
Money raised supports our projects in India & Nepal.

On Sunday the 15thof May we had our first ever sponsored walk, which proved to be a great little fundraiser and social gathering. We had 13 walkers in total that strolled along the river Thames from Island Gardens to Blackfriars. We walked around 7 miles, played a quiz and ended at the Anchor to enjoy a well deserved lunch!
Space Art Centre
A special mention goes to Alice who raised nearly £300 sponsorship for the walk. We are really impressed with her fundraising efforts and she was great company along the stroll so we hope to see her at our next events in the summer.
The walk has raised £400 for our charity projects and we are due to receive more sponsorship money this week, which we are really pleased and grateful for. We enjoyed lots of sightseeing of the docklands and famous landmarks like Tower Bridge and London’s oldest Riverside Inn.
The next strolls will be on the 12th of June, which will start at the London Eye and will travel south past Battersea Power Station and end in Putney. If you like the idea of learning about Jack the Ripper and Victorian Slum life then the ‘Ripper Ramble’ on the 26thof June will definitely appeal to you!
Walkers can raise money before the event or make a donation on the day for our charity. Please email Lynda@shanti.org.uk to book your place. 02078221869.
We’re really pleased with the graphic design work from Bansi Ruparelia and the promotional posters he has done for our charity.
In preparation for the Stroll next Sunday on the 15th, I walked the route yesterday to take notes and pictures. My bestfriend joined me and we thoroughly enjoyed the leisurely walk along the docks and famous landmarks. The views and surrounding areas are simply lovely and a real pleasure to walk so I’m really looking forward to walking with the group next week!
This is one of the snaps I took along the walk, unfortunately the sun was in front of me beautifully beaming down so it appears a bit dark, but you can still see the water glistening, the lovely Tower Bridge in front and gorgeous apartments to your right.
If you haven’t signed up and would like to join the group please email Lynda@shanti.org.uk or call 07968533528
Meeting at Island Gardens Foot Tunnel, we will be walking 8 miles along the Thames River Path to Putney, mini breaks are planned at major landmarks along the way including London’s oldest pub, Tower Bridge, London Eye and Battersea Power Station.
We’re setting off at 10am and aim to finish at 4pm. Nearest station to meeting is Island Gardens DLR.
Looking forward to Shanti Summer Stroll on the 15th of May!
Big thank you to volunteer Steven Rendora for providing the new poster for us!
