Shanti International’s first big fashion event was a night full of stunning and trendy collections, fantastic live performances and great crowd of people. We received a great review from In-Spirels Magazine, which we are really pleased with, click here to read it. First on the catwalk was Susmita who displayed fantastic and colourful Indo-Western fusion wear with her spring/summer collection.
Second was Yidia who is from Lagos Nigeria and has been a fashion designer for the past 10 years. She has established her own fashion label called Aisha and showcased some of her spring/summer collection.
After Yidia was a dance performance from street group ‘a:m’. Dancers Amir Khan & Maariya incorporated various styles of popping, locking, tutting and waving to create an awesome performance. The audience loved it!
Third designer was Khusbhu Fashions who are a top Asian Store, that specialise in taking a modern approach to traditional Asian wear.
Next up was upcoming pop artist Sertari who got people dancing with her funky set and was a great feature to the night. Her talent was sublime and I have no doubt that she will make it big, especially working with the likes of Kanye West!
Fourth designer was Emil Car with his Parisian and architectural influences. His collection demonstrated that he has mastered the art of contrasting colours and tailoring.
The final collection was from Designer Cheema who has been working hard as a stylist, choreographer and designer since graduating from the London College of Fashion.
The last performance was Salsa diva Zaneta who performed a soul full masterpiece. She had the audience enthralled and we love her passion for dancing.
Throughout the night we had DJ Yann Solo, who worked the decks downstairs in the backstage area and played top tunes all night. One of the attendees Paul said that Yann produced ‘the best soundtrack to an event that he had ever heard’. Yann was a fantastic asset to the fashion show and he provided great music and I look forward to his next set.
The night was a great success raising over £1’000 and the team of volunteers working back stage such as the make-up artists, hair stylists, choreographers, and all the front of house help were incredible! Keep posted for video and interview pieces on the event.
Isha- Eastern Eye: ‘The alternative and edgy Shoreditch was a perfect area for this funky fund raiser. Guests got a chance to check out a range of fashion designers and differeny styles in an intimate setting whilst supporting a good cause a long the way. Not a bad way to spend a Wednesday night!’
